Welcome to How to Stop the Snore. I’m Maximus, the author of HowToStopTheSnore.com.

You’re probably thinking: “The name is a bit funny, to be honest“.

Yep, and we are actually on a quest to help people stop the snore and beyond.

We know, first hand, that stopping the snore may be fixed in the short to medium term, but getting quality sleep is a lifelong journey to embrace.

We’re Ever-Evolving. We Want to Help You Discover.

We want to be an ever-evolving online space for people to discover ways to get quality sleep, one night at a time.

We have become so passionate about quality sleep that we’re investing much of our waking hours (after quality sleep nights, of course) to read, research and discover more ways to share about the benefits, product reviews, how-tos and stories about quality sleep to share with you here.

Most of all, we believe that getting quality sleep is not just about physical rest but also rest on your whole being.

In fact, God who created the Heavens and the Earth is the one that introduced to us the notion of rest as He rested on the 7th day of His completed work. 

In the same way, we believe that God will go with you wherever you go and give you rest like how God spoke to Moses in Exodus 33:14: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” And rest, in this context, is not what you might imagine as being in a nice swimming pool soaking the sun, but more of shalom peace – a state of well-being and a place in creation.

So howtostopthesnore.com was started to “help you stop the snore”, but like we said, we want to go beyond that into quality sleep and true rest that you can experience.

And This Is Our Story – Why I Started HowToStopTheSnore.com

It wasn’t a hard decision to start this website laser-focused at helping people with sleep problems because my dad has had a really bad snore and sleep apnea for a long time.

About My Dad

My dad is a professional doctor who works very long hours and doesn’t always have time to get the best night’s sleep. On top of that, he will go out with the family and always find the worst places to sleep – like on a public park bench somewhere or at a mall. I mean there’s nothing wrong with sleeping during a beautiful sunny day out at the park or at an air-conditioned mall.The thing that worried me was that he was doing that for months and years while I was growing up.

I kept telling him to actually find a doctor (ironic) to help him with this, but he wouldn’t want to (you know how doctors are – they believe they are the best to know everything, but not always do them). I call it “pride”.

On a Quest

Anyways, fast forwards a couple of years. One night, I found myself not being able to sleep that well because of his snore (and we slept in adjacent rooms). I was so frustrated that I had to move downstairs to sleep, but it didn’t help. Then, I tried a headphone on, but it didn’t help as well. I realized something. I realized that this will cause serious issues. Not just serious issues to my dad’s health, but also to my sleep.

The funny part is that one night I actually found myself walking into his room that night. I pretty much studied the way he breathed and why it was making so much noise, so-called “snoring”, and I was trying to find a way to help him find how to stop snoring altogether. On a serious note, though, I found that he wasn’t breathing on repetitive short seconds of pauses between his snoring. I felt so bad to see my dad like this. Wouldn’t you?

At that moment, my mind ran like 100 miles per hour (160 km per hour for non-American friends) and I knew that I had to be on a quest to find a way to put a stop to this mad snoring:

  • For one, I have to help my dad get rid of this snoring. It doesn’t take a medical doctor to realize that this is a genuinely big problem. It’s going to be a throat problem for sure (from making all that noise). In addition, he will probably develop some type of heath problems. (I actually did a few types of research on this which I can share with you below as well).
  • Two, I want him and our family to get a good night’s sleep without having to ask him to sleep last for once. Why do we ask him to sleep last? Well, because we will be well on our way to sleep before he starts making that “beautiful” synchronization of snoring with the perfectly silent night.
  • Three, I wanted to sleep as well. Let’s be honest here, I gotta work too.
